History of ThinRope.net?
What happend with me, my life and this site:
[December 11th, '99] The whole gallery is up and running! 15 MB in about 100 JPEG files are waiting for you. Most of them are in 740x480 pixels format. Now working on sorting and keyword search... Enjoy and send me your comments
[December 3rd, '99] It is already winter here... For one night 40 centimeters new snow covered everything. However, I finally managed to make up my mind, to write some scripts and to upload 25% of my gallery! Enjoy and send me your comments! Soon I'll upload the whole...
[November 22nd, '99] Trying to re-design my website, I based most of my pages on CSS...
[November 13th, '99] Have you ever had a CyberDate?? It's fun! Just finished cropping my pictures... Why not see where I climbed during my holliday? The 400m Central Wall of Vratza!
[November 12th, '99] Almost a month since last update :-( This site is going bad... And I have already uploaded some new pictures! But as my ISP was making major hardware updates, it was kind of difficult to access my site. Now everything is ok and even faster, as I feel.
[October 19th, '99] I`ve got a new mobile phone from J-Phone :-) Please use it instead of my regular one, as I am easier to be reached there: (+81 90) 2877-2335.
[October 17th, '99] Finally! Finally I managed to choose and mount 100 slides and give them to have PhotoCD made! Woh, it is hard beleive me - working with gloves, cleaning everything around and...choosing!
[October 17th, '99] Snow! Yes today I saw my 1st snow for this winter! I was to Soranuma hut nearby and, starting from yesterday around noon, it snowed almost 15 cm! When I got back to Sapporo it was snowing, but everything still melts. Wanna see what's the weather now? Check Yahoo!Weather for Sapporo!
[October 15th, '99] I finally had to decide on my class schedule... I could fill it only up to 50% so I guess I will have some free time ;-D After having a closer look at my photos from Bulgaria, I may switch to mainly Fuji films, because the best pictures are on Fuji RVP and RDP II. Kodak`s E100VS is almost the same, maybe? After the end of November see them on-line!
[October 12th, '99] Have you ever seen a surgic operation? An operation of a live human eye ?!? I just did... and I fainted all of a sudden :-( Just for 4-5 seconds I was awake on the ground. If you ever decide to attend an operation, please DO eat, DO sleep and DO take a chair when you are offered one. I didn't do any of these, so the result was obvious. However it was very interesting to watch!
[October 7th, '99] To have your heart broken is bad, really bad. Better don`t "try" it on yoursefl. Alone in the middle of nowhere... Just my two cents. Be on-line soon......
[October 5th, '99] Well, I just sorted my 20 rolls of slide film shot in Bulgaria and I soon will have some of it scanned to a PhotoCD and I`ll put it on-line. It`s kind of cold here in Sapporo :-(
[October 3rd, '99] Just came back to Sapporo, but am too tired to write anything elese... will do it soon.
[September 2nd '99]That's all folks! Going to Bulgaria :-D Be back soon to update this site!
[August 27th '99] Well, may be that will be the last update to this site for a long period. I am going home (to Bulgaria) and will be back in the beginning of October '99. I'll try to read my e-mail regularly though. In Bulgaria I plan an "attack" to a 400 m rock-wall and a lot of shooting (only with my camera, not with a gun :-G Now gathering money for film. Will 20 rolls be enough? 40? May be 50 is ok for 3 week trip? We'll see.
Its August 27th '99 and three of my 1st semester exams passed, though I am not sure I did pass them ;-) I was on a 5 day hike in the highest region of Hokkaido and went to the higest peak here - Mt. Asahi (2290 m) as a assistant leader with a group of elderly people. Wheather was not very good, mostly foggy or with heavy clouds and windy. However it didn't rain. I saw some great places and some very bad trails... Pictures? Well after I come back from Bulgaria, I think.
On August 14th, '99 together with my friend Randy we made the first Tyrolean traverse in the Red Rock area (near Otaru, Hokkaido, Japan, Earth :-)! I put some
pics on my page for climbing. They are from Randy's digital video camera.
My leg is OK now, so tomorrow (19th) I am going again in the mouuntains! Be back on 23nd...
It's already August 7th, '99 and I haven't updated this site for quite a while :-( I just came back from a looong climbing trip
in Northern Japanese Alps; we had good weather and the rock was solid; unfortunately I took a nasty three meter fall in a crevasse and now my leg hurts... Soon the pictures!
On July 12th, '99 I am trying to return to normal life after two days very intesnive climbing/hiking. When I summon some strength,
I'll put a page about my last adventures here in Japan. Meanwhile, learning CSS is giving me some trouble. Just trying to make my site look better...
On July 5th, '99 I put a new travel story (in Bulgarian) about SAWA NOBORI or mountain river climbing.
On June 28th, '99 I reorganized my travel stories and put a new one about Mt. Fuji.
Till June 22nd, '99 this site was "closed" because my Grandfather passed away. Let him rest in peace.
Till now my start-up page was changed deliberately to a page about Him.
On June 14th, '99 I put the draft of a new page about Bulgaria. I'll update it after the presentation
that I'll make on the same topic and it should be ready by June 21st. See it later!
On June 13th, '99 somehow I found a bit of time to make my Guestbook!
Please sign it!
(June 10th, '99) The latest news is that... I'm so busy with so many things that I cannot find time to update this (properly).Ough!
On May 28th, '99 CyrTran 1.2 page has been updated again as some bugs got fixed.
See the explanation.
On May 24st, '99 The Experimental Cyrilic page has evolved into CyrTran 1.2 as I added an
on-line editor. Now you can choose which to use. As the new one
is written in JavaScript it may be very slow if you try to edit BIG things (several pages). In such cases use the
CGI/Perl one, now also updated to version 1.2 (some bugs correcetd).
On May 21st, '99 The experimental cyrilic page was updated
to support transliterated encoding. Also help included.
On May 21st, '99 I put my class schedule online.
On May 18th, '99 I started writing about my best weekend since I am in Japan.
On May 18th, '99 I added The experimental cyrilic page. Wanna read/write in Bulgarian, but don't
have keyboard driver? Try my page!
On May 9th, '99 I added Me on the Net page.
On May 5th '99 I added automated footer (CGI/Perl script).
On May 3rd, '99, I made my first climb in Hokkaido (in fact in Japan),
together with an Alaska ranger. No kidding!
In fact, just a top-roping on a 10m rock, let's say around up to 5.9 (UIAA V+). Every beginning is difficult, this was not
an exception - weather was bad (strong wind, cloudy), approach was muddy. But as there is a saying - "What ends well is good"-
we got a pair of beers each at a pub near the station for free! The guy there was very kind to stop us (in fact to call us back from 20-30m)
and to say "Kanpai" together (that's Japanese for "Cheers"). Well, that is what I call Hokkaido, the best part of Japan for any mountain-man!
From April 28th 21:00h JST to April 29th 9:00h I took part in the All JA Contest form Hokkaido University Radio Club JA8YBY.
On April 27th, '99 I decided to join Academic Alpine Club of Hokkaido University
On April 25th, '99 I had my first flights together with the members of Hokkaido University Soaring Club.
An old dream of mine is on its way to become reality! I can fly! With only word only, it was GREAT!!! I had 3 take-offs (and 3 landings;-), 2 of them as a 1st pilot.
I was flying KA7 glider "winched-up" to about 400m at a air-speed of about 120 kmph. Soon the pictures are coming...
On April 19th, '99 I got a new e-mail t990220@ec.hokudai.ac.jp
(yes, one more:-). Please use it ONLY to write in Japanese. It is still difficult to regularly check it so I may reply in a week or so.
